Privacy policy

• Account details — name, email, phone number and password (stored hashed), and the vehicles you save to your garage.
• Orders — shipping addresses, what you bought or sold, messages and disputes.
• Sellers — business name, ZIP and pickup address, payout status, listings and the photos you upload, and the connection to your eBay account if you link one.
• Site usage — pages visited, the site that referred you, device, browser and operating system, approximate country and IP address. We measure this ourselves; there are no advertising trackers on salvagd.

We never see or store your full card number: payments are handled by Stripe.

• To run your account, process orders, ship parts and pay sellers.
• To handle returns, refunds and disputes.
• To send order, shipping and account emails (you can turn off non-essential notifications in your settings).
• To prevent fraud and abuse, and to keep the site secure.
• To understand how the site is used and improve it.

• The other party to your order — a seller gets the buyer's name and shipping address to send the part.
• Stripe — payments, and identity verification and payouts for sellers.
• Shipping carriers and label services — the addresses on a shipment.
• eBay — listing details, for sellers who connect an eBay account.
• AI service providers — photos sellers upload are processed to identify parts and write listings.
• Hosting and email providers that run the site for us, and authorities when the law requires it.

We use your browser's storage to keep you signed in, remember your cart and vehicle, and count visits. We don't use third-party advertising cookies.

Account information is kept while your account is open. Order and payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require, even after an account is closed.

You can update your details in your account settings. To get a copy of your information or have your account deleted, contact us from the email address on the account.

We may update this policy; the date at the top says when it last changed.
